Privacy Policy
At DriftLine Couriers, we are committed to safeguarding your personal data. This privacy policy describes how we collect, process, share, and protect your information when utilizing our US-to-Jamaica package forwarding services.
SECURE DATA COMPLIANCE
We process all personal identification details and uploaded commercial invoices in absolute compliance with the Data Protection Act of Jamaica. Your documents are encrypted both in transit and at rest in secure servers.
1Information We Collect
To successfully route packages, calculate import tariffs, and clear customs borders on your behalf, we must collect the following types of personal information:
- Account Registration Details: Full name, verified email address, cellular phone number, home/delivery address, and Tax Registration Number (TRN) required for Jamaican customs billing.
- Identity Verification Documents: Uploaded copies of government-issued identification cards (such as driver's licenses or passports) to verify account authenticity.
- Shipment Transaction History: Retail merchant invoices, package weight descriptions, item values, tracking numbers, and locked proof-of-purchase receipts uploaded during customs processing.
2How We Use Your Information
We process your personal information strictly to fulfill our logistical agreement and maintain regulatory compliance. Specific use cases include:
- Allocating and maintaining your US Warehouse Suite number.
- Preparing customs clearance manifests and completing declarations under the Jamaica Customs Agency.
- Dispatching real-time transit telemetry, invoice bills, and pickup ready notifications via Email, SMS, and WhatsApp.
- Verifying declared item values using locked commercial receipt documents to prevent customs penalties.
4Security & Encryption Protocols
We employ premium security measures to protect your sensitive data from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure:
All communication and data exchange is protected in transit using HTTPS and SSL/TLS encryption. Uploaded documents (including TRN, ID verifications, and commercial receipts) are isolated inside secure storage buckets. Database nodes are firewalled, and administrative operations are gated behind strict permissions filters to prevent unauthorized internal lookup.
5Data Retention Limits
Under Jamaican tax, border control, and financial auditing laws, we are legally required to retain transaction records (including manifest invoices, receipts, and customs declarations) for a minimum of 7 years from the date of import.
Verification documents, such as uploaded government IDs, are retained securely and only kept as long as your DriftLine Couriers account remains active. If your account is closed or deleted, these identity images are purged from our storage system.
6Customer Privacy Rights & Control
You have complete control over your account preferences. Through your dashboard Settings workspace, you can:
- Access, inspect, and review all profile information stored in our databases.
- Update your contact phone number, shipping address, or account password.
- Opt-in or opt-out of push notifications, web alerts, or SMS marketing notifications.
