Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before registering for a DriftLine warehouse suite or utilizing our freight forwarding and customs clearance services.

IMPORTANT REGULATORY NOTICE

By utilizing DriftLine Couriers services, you authorize DriftLine to act as your agent for customs clearance, declaration, and border processing. All shipments must adhere to the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA) laws. Uploading altered or falsified invoices is a criminal offense under the Customs Act of Jamaica.

1Scope of Agreement & Services

DriftLine Couriers provides premium ocean and air freight forwarding, cargo handling, and customs brokerage services from our designated receiving facility in the United States (Miami, Florida) to our secure pickup headquarters in Salem Hill, Chapelton P.O., Clarendon, Jamaica.

By registering for a personal shipping suite, you acknowledge and agree that DriftLine Couriers acts as a logistical carrier and intermediary agent. We are authorized to receive shipments, prepare import cargo manifests, verify declared items, and complete customs clearances on your behalf at major Jamaican ports of entry.

2US Warehouse Address & Suite Allocation

Upon successful account verification, the customer is assigned a unique personal identifier suite number (e.g., DL-XXXX). It is the customer's sole responsibility to ensure that this suite number is entered correctly in the address fields at checkout on any US e-commerce retailer.

  • DriftLine Couriers is not liable for cargo lost, misrouted, delayed, or rejected due to missing or incorrect suite numbers on packages delivered to our Florida receiving warehouse.
  • Unidentified parcels delivered to our warehouse without a valid suite number or full customer name matching the database registry will be marked as "Unknown" and will experience severe sorting delays until proof of ownership is uploaded.

3Customs Declaration & Locked Receipt Policy

The customer is legally obligated to declare the true retail purchase price of all items contained inside their parcel. An unaltered commercial invoice or online purchase order confirmation in PDF or image format must be uploaded for every package before port arrival.

To comply with security and border protection audits, we enforce a strict Locked Receipt Protocol:

Locked Receipt & Reupload Lifecycle:

  1. Once a customer uploads a receipt, the upload field is disabled/hidden and the entry is permanently locked.
  2. In the event that the uploaded receipt is flagged as incorrect, illegible, or fraudulent, a system administrator will click "Request Reupload".
  3. This resets the invoice state, resets the receipt file path to null, and immediately dispatch alerts via Email and SMS for the customer to supply the correct document.

4Prohibited Items & Warehouse Inspection Rights

DriftLine Couriers strictly prohibits the shipping of illegal items, dangerous goods, and materials blocked by aviation law or the Jamaica Customs Agency.

Prohibited items list includes but is not limited to:

  • Firearms, ammunition, accessories, parts, or ammunition reloaders
  • Replica weapons, toy guns, paintballs, BB guns, or airsoft rifles
  • Contraband, radar detectors, laser pointers, and lockpicks
  • Explosive devices, firecrackers, flammables, aerosol cans, and gases

DriftLine Couriers reserves the absolute right to open, inspect, and verify the physical contents of all packages received at our Miami warehouse to ensure export compliance before booking cargo transit.

5Storage Limits & Package Abandonment

Once packages are cleared through customs and logged as "Ready for Pickup" at our Clarendon warehouse, the customer is allowed a maximum of 14 calendar days of free warehousing storage.

Storage Fees

After the 14-day grace period expires, a storage fee of $2.50 USD (or equivalent JMD) per package per calendar day will automatically accrue.

Abandonment Policy

Any package left unclaimed at our warehouse for more than 60 calendar days is deemed legally abandoned and will be sold, auctioned, or destroyed without prior warning.

6Freight Rates, Customs Duties & Cash on Collection

Our shipping rates are calculated based on package scale weights (Lbs). Customs duties are applied in compliance with the tariff schedules of the Jamaica Customs Agency based on CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) valuation.

DriftLine Couriers operates strictly on a Cash on Collection system. No packages, freight, or barrels will be released to the customer or their authorized agent unless all pending invoices, customs duties, and accumulated daily storage fees are settled in full.
